Who can belong to AWSDA?

AWSDA welcomes anyone who supports the growth and improvement of women's self defense. Self defense instructors, law enforcement professionals, rape crisis counselors and other workers in victim services agencies find AWSDA a source of information and networking.

Is AWSDA a profit-making organization?

No, AWSDA is a Federally recognized non-profit, tax-exempt organization. AWSDA will only take a political stand on issues directly related to women's self defense.

Who runs AWSDA?

AWSDA is run by its members through an elected board of directors.

How is AWSDA supported?

Members submit a $25.00 membership fee once a year. The initial application fee is $35.00 (includes a $10.00 processing fee).

Multi-year discounted renewal rates (1 yr - $25, 2 yr - $45 & 3 yr - $60) and student renewal rate (with current valid copy of your student id) of $15 are also available.

How can organizations show their support for AWSDA?

Corporate sponsors may donate $120.00 for a one year sponsorship. When businesses become corporate sponsors, they may use the AWSDA logo and motto for their own advertising for that year.

AWSDA will show its appreciation by giving that business free advertising space in the AWSDA newsletter (per corporate sponsor agreement).

Businesses may also show their support by giving discounts and other benefits to AWSDA members.
