The AWSDA Logo - The Fisted Rose

The Fisted Rose

What Does It Stand For?

The rose itself represents womanhood. Besides it being one of Nature's most beautiful flowers, the rose is also among Nature's most durable. Rosebushes have been known to climb over and around the highest walls, and have survived storms and fires which destroy the mightiest trees. Even when cut or burned to the ground, roses have a tendency to reappear stronger and more beautiful than before.

The rose is held firmly by a woman's fist, appearing to ignore the hidden thorns, which represent the obstacles, inconveniences, and even pain that grasping one's destiny often entails.

The fisted hand is capable of either graciously handing the rose over to someone, holding firm to those who attempt to pry it loose, or striking out at anyone or anything that violently tries to take it away.

AWSDA members are encouraged to use the words "member of" when describing their affiliation with AWSDA, whether on resumes or business cards, etc. Use of the AWSDA logo is allowed with written permission from AWSDA Headquarters or in accordance with the Corporate Sponsor Agreement. In this way we help to maintain the reputation and integrity of our organization by knowing exactly what (or whom) our logo and name AWSDA is being associated with. This will also help to maintain our federal tax exempt status.
